Mother Hubbards opened first in November 1996 in Dublin. Peter & Karen McGovern own Mother Hubbards and Karen runs the Four Centre’s, two in Dublin and two in Navan. We care for almost two hundred children between full day care, part time care and after-school children.
There is a Mangement System in place. There is a Area Manager who is responsible for all the centre’s compliance with the HSE Regulations, Recruitment and Enrolments. Each centre then has a manager in place to run the day to day activities of the centre.
Management have worked together to draw up documents in relation to Policies and Procedures, Health & Safety Statement, Code of Ethics, Parents Handbook and Staff Handbook.
We provide a variety of options for parents childcare needs, from babies to afterschool age. These options are Full Day Care, Part Time Care, Sessional Montessori, Afterschool Club. There are large outdoor play areas with safety surface and age appropriate equipment. There is a chef employed to cook all the childrens meals. All food is prepared from scratch and there is a four week menu, to ensure that the children get a wide variety of foods. There is a detailed HACCP plan followed.

- 19, Nephin Road, Dublin 7. Caters for 40 Children at any one time, on two floors, outdoor play area.
- 6, The Avenue, Ongar, Dublin 15. Caters for 127 Children at any one time, on two floors, 2 outdoor play areas.
- 56, Blackcastle Demesne, Slane Rd., Navan, Co. Meath. Caters for 55 Children at any one time, on two floors, outdoor play area.
- 151, Blackcastle Lodge, Flower Hill, Navan, Co. Meath. Caters for 38 Children at any one time, on one floor, outdoor play area.
We are members of the NCNA (National children’s Nursery Assoc) since first opening. The NCNA regurlarly monitor and support their members. In December 2006, our centre on the Slane Road, Navan, won the All-Ireland Centre of Excellence Award which was presented by the NCNA.
In 2010, we launched our brand new website www.motherhubbardschildcare.ie which provides parents with a wide range of information including our staff, Menu’s, curriculum, aims and ethos.
Over 90% of our Staff are qualified in fetec Level 5 in Childcare or above, the remainder of staff are qualified in social studies etc. We carry out mandatory training with all our staff including Food Handling, Manual Handling, Paediatric 1st Aid, Child Protection, Fire Safety Training. All staff employed are Garda vetted.
